Loan processor

The person who makes sure a file is right before anyone sees it.

Processing is where applications are won or lost. A file that is complete, correct and submitted with everything the assessor needs gets approved faster than one that arrives in pieces, and the difference is entirely down to the person preparing it.

What the role involves

1

Collecting and checking every client document

2

Confirming every figure against its source document

3

Building the lodgement pack and the supporting evidence

4

Submitting through ApplyOnline and answering lender queries

5

Tracking every file's next step and whose court it is in

What we are looking for

Experience in lending operations and real familiarity with ApplyOnline and a CRM — Mercury Nexus ideally, but any serious one. You need to be comfortable reading a payslip, a tax record and a bank statement and noticing when they disagree with each other, because that is most of the job.

The trait that matters most is refusing to tick something you have not seen. A file where every item is ticked and half the evidence is missing is worse than an obviously incomplete one, because everyone downstream trusts it. If that distinction is obvious to you, we should talk.

Tell us how you keep a file straight

Tell us about a file you caught something on before it went out. That is the whole job in one story.
